Utiltiies (Water, Power, etc.)
Selected partnering internet gateway providers
Hospitals
Corporate emergency operations command posts
NGO operations offices (e.g. Red Cross)
Ad hoc shelter kiosks
These would be portable transceivers that could provide an internet gateway to kiosk (shared) computers at ad hoc shelters to allow public internet access for welfare traffic and other priority internet services.
To be easy to connect to, behaving much like a generic WISP, though prioritized for organizational clients.
To be used on a continual basis, not merely during emergencies, so that the network can be constantly monitored, tested and enhanced. A network used only during an emergency is a network that can not be relied upon.
To provide primary internet service to the above clients. SCEWN is currently being deployed as a network of last resort. However, this could evolve as the network matures in resources.
